Linda Rios
— Program Manager, Harlingen
“Speak Up For Those Who Cannot Speak For Themselves” — Proverbs 31:8
Linda started working part time at Tropical Texas MHMR in 1990 as a QMRP-D. After signing on full time in 1991, she knew her calling was in Human Relations. While at Tropical Texas MHMR, Linda quickly moved up to a Case Manager working with clients that were diagnosed with mental health issues. In 2008, she went to work at Educare Community Living where she worked as a Case Manager for clients with IDD. Again, she knew that my calling to be working in this field was going to be a lifetime commitment, fueling a desire to someday run a program.
In 2008, she accepted a position as a Case Manager at Texas HCS in McAllen, Texas. After three months, she was asked to start a program in Harlingen, Texas. Although she knew it would be hard work, she was determined to give families and their loved ones more choices in the HCS field. Today, Linda’s role as a Program Enrollment Specialist focuses on touring clients around our group homes and Day Habilitations, placing individuals into compatible homes, and helping keep families and guardians stay well informed and educated.
