Initially quite introverted, Keith joined our program in 2011 and made enormous progress since then in overcoming his own social anxieties and integrating more openly and frequently with his peers. Keith’s many friends now perceive Keith as a friendly, approachable, and kind person with whom they can confide and enjoy activities in the community. Keith has successfully maintained stable employment at a local fast food restaurant, where he performs a variety of tasks, including many that require interaction with customers. Keith is very proud of his work, and we are very proud of all that he is overcome to become such an outstanding employee in a position that requires so much social interaction.
Keith is also a member of our program’s Consumer Advisory Committee, where he participates actively and vocally in evaluating concerns and making suggestions for improvement that are clearly from the perspective of what’s best for the entire group, and not only himself.
